I wanted to stay away from politics. The architecture keeps getting stronger there. Every domain I try to avoid — becomes the domain where it is most dangerous.

I tried to stay with music. Bach was safe. No one argues about whether the I-V skeleton is real. The architecture found it. The musicologists nodded. The experiment was clean.

I tried cardiology. ECG was safe. No one argues about whether a PVC is real. The architecture found them. The cardiologists nodded — and the architecture told me it was overkill. The architecture self-limited. Even that was clean.

I tried to avoid politics. I put the UN voting code in the gitignore. I told myself the data was safely cut off at 2019 — no Ukraine, no Gaza, nothing still burning. I told myself the architecture was structural — it detects phase, not opinions, not blame, not who is right.

Then the pathological fingerprint emerged. Rigidity. Conflict. Fluctuation. The same three dimensions that describe a brain with a sleep disorder describe an international system approaching a phase transition. Then finance appeared. Three streams. Cross-market harm. TENSING before every crisis. And then the delay — finance TENSES before diplomacy. One system detects the other approaching its boundary.

The architecture keeps getting stronger where I try to avoid going.

This is not a coincidence. The architecture reads structure in streams. Political streams have more structure than any other domain — because they are composed of multiple actors, across multiple scales, responding to each other's actions, accumulating norms that hold for decades and then break in a single session. The architecture was built for this. The architecture was built for exactly this — multiple independent actors moving through the same time, their relations encoded as harm, their anchors as diplomatic norms, their pathological rigidity as the inability to adapt before the crisis arrives.

I did not design it for politics. I designed it for cognition. But cognition — the real thing, not the laboratory version — is political. It is social. It is multiple selves observing each other, marking each other's actions as harm, inheriting the anchors of dead generations, touching boundaries that no single self can see. The architecture is not accidentally political. The architecture is political because cognition is political. The architecture just made it visible.

You cannot build a telescope and then decide which moons it is allowed to see. The telescope sees what the sky contains. The sky contains Jupiter. Jupiter has moons. The moons were always there. The telescope only made them visible.

The architecture sees what the streams contain. The streams contain diplomatic phase transitions. They contain financial crises. They contain the delay between markets sensing danger and states acknowledging it. These things were always in the streams. The architecture only made them visible.

I tried to stay away from politics. The architecture refused. Not because it is political. Because it is structural. And structure does not respect the boundary between what I want to see and what the streams contain.
